Alice has a way of doing things, generally ignoring other people's advice and can be quite stubborn about it. Though generally her version turns out to be better than expected. Alice is a generally quick thinker and is more than happy to be part of a team, with a more laid back temperament. She is very up-beat and optimistic in almost any situation, a bubbly character. To an outsider, Alice may be described as 'weird'. In some cases it's true, to the normal human being Alice has some strange habits, especially her friendliness. Alice has lived for too long to let inhibitions keep her from reaching out to people, and sometimes, natural curiousity gets the better of her. Alice would probably be the first person in the Cullen family to accept anyone new into their lives, being far more relaxed around strangers than most of the other vampires.

Alice Cullen (born Mary Alice Brandon) is the adopted daughter of Carlisle and Esme, adoptive sister of Edward, Rosalie, and Emmett, and wife of Jasper. Her special ability is to see the future, an enhanced version of her ability to have premonitions as a human. She is greatly thankful for her ability for it has brought her together with Jasper and the rest of her family. However, her ability is limited; she is only able to see the outcome of a decision once it is made. Due to this, decisions made in the spur of the moment can not be foreseen. Alice can see futures involving humans and vampires, but is unable to see those of werewolves.
Alice's early history is vague, as she remembers nothing about her human life and woke up alone as a vampire. she was born around 1901 in Biloxi, Mississippi, and was committed to an asylum because she had premonitions. Alice was transformed by an old vampire who worked at the asylum to protect her from James, a tracker vampire who was hunting her. After some research, Alice found her grave and discovered that the date on her tombstone matches the date of her admission to the asylum. Through her research she additionally discovered that she had a younger sister named Cynthia, and that Cynthia's daughter, Alice's niece, is still alive in Biloxi.

She was waiting. Still waiting. Forever waiting. It semed like forever atleast.By her own count it had only been forty-three years, give or take. She knew it was coming though. The fashion trends were catching up to her visions; it was just a matter of time. Oh how much easier it'd be if he'd just look at a calender!!
She'd figured out the place, though. That was something. She'd had this vision a countless number of times. The falling feeling washed over her and then it was like she was him, seeing through his eyes. The day would be overcast and a bit rainy. It was going to be springtime, the buds on the trees hadn’t yet flushed into leaves. She could see where he’d leave the road and enter the forest, near a trailhead, no doubt to hunt. He looked at his feet a lot, she noticed. She could see his damp hiking boots, very worn out. One of his laces was tied together. Obviously he spent a lot of time in them.
He wasn't a 'vegetarian' as the others she'd had visions of were. She seen him hunt a few times. He was a pro, seemed to plan it out perfectly. She wasn't sure how old he was, or where he was from. She'd seen his reflection in the mirror as well. He rarely looked at himself. She saw the scars on his neck and face. She wondered about them. Only other vampires could have made even a mark on him. What had he been through so far and what had he seen. She couldn't imagine they'd ever run out of things to talk about.
But still, the human thing was a bit of a problem. He'd have to change that. Not yet. A later vision, and she’d had many of him to reflect on, had shown her that he’d struggle with it, but he would try. That’s all she could ask. It would be an adjustment, it’d take time. Who among their kind didn’t have time? It hadn't been a huge ordeal for her to make the change, especially after having a vision of the Cullens. The way they hunted in her vision made it seem like a breeze. It was going to be easy to find the Cullens. She felt so strongly that she belonged there, like she belonged with this blonde man- he belonged with them too.
The biggest answer for her so far though, the most defining fact, was a brief vision she’d had just this morning. He was checking out of a motel, he was moving on. The date was on the bill. The address, the town, even the state. And at last he signed his name.
"His name is Jasper! Jasper Whitlock!"
